Job summary

GGP Services Inc. is seeking a Property Accountant in Chicago, IL to record and report property-level financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

You will prepare financial statements, reconcile accounts, and analyze variances to support property operations. The role collaborates with property teams and corporate finance to ensure compliance and data integrity, while applying AI tools judiciously to improve accuracy.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting/finance experience; real estate preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business; CPA candidate a plus.
• Experience preparing workpapers for accrual-based GL entries and responding to audit inquiries.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; attention to detail and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare balance sheets and income statements for a portfolio of properties; ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Record transactions in JD Edwards GL; maintain supporting workpapers.
• Explain variances in balance sheets and income statements.
• Calculate CAM charges per lease agreements.
• Collaborate with property teams and finance to ensure smooth operations.
• Document ownership-level transactions per debt agreements and JV contracts.
• Stay informed on external accounting practices and disclosures.
