Job summary

Jobot in Washington, DC is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a growing real estate accounting team. You will manage accounting activities for a 12-property portfolio, serve as a key partner to property management and leadership, and ensure timely month-end close.

The ideal candidate has property accounting experience, strong Yardi proficiency, and the ability to independently manage multiple properties while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance.
• 5+ years of financial reporting and accounting experience.
• Property accounting experience with multiple properties preferred.
• Proficient in Yardi or similar property management software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and maintain organized records.
• Manage multi-property accounting for 12 properties.
• Prepare journal entries and reflect financial position.
• Reconcile complex accounts and bank statements.
• Assist in month-end closing and ensure proper GL balance sheets.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with accounting team to improve processes.
