Job summary

CFS in Madison, Wisconsin is seeking a Property Accountant to join a seasoned accounting leadership team with deep expertise in real estate. You’ll prepare monthly financial statements, perform month-end close, and work closely with property managers across multiple portfolios.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience; property, real estate, or multi-entity accounting experience is a plus.
  • Strong Excel skills with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and complete month-end close activities for an assigned portfolio of properties.
  • Record journal entries, reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger activity.
  • Partner with property managers to review financial performance, resolve accounting questions, and support operational success.
  • Assist with audits, year-end reporting, and special accounting projects as assigned.
