Location: Dallas, Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)

Work Model: Full onsite for the first 6 months, then hybrid

Role Overview:

The Property Accountant will primarily be responsible for managing accounting for the company’s wholly owned properties. The position requires a strong understanding of general ledger (GL) accounting and reconciliations, with the ability to manage multiple areas within the GL (balance sheet to income statement accounts). This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with experience in commercial real estate accounting who is detail-oriented, team-oriented, and proactive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain the general ledger (GL) accounting for assigned properties.
• Perform reconciliations for various GL accounts (cash, accounts receivable, balance sheet, and income statement accounts).
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reporting for commercial real estate properties.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and provide timely financial information.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and year-end closing processes.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and reports for property management teams.
• Coordinate with external auditors and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
• Continuously improve accounting processes and internal controls.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (18 hours of accounting coursework required).
• 3-5+ years of commercial real estate accounting experience (public accounting experience may be considered if commercial real estate experience is limited).
• Strong understanding of GL accounting and reconciliations, with experience managing various GL accounts.
• Experience with JD Edwards is a plus.
