Job Description

Interfacing with Stream's Property Transitions Accounting team, this Senior Property Accountant manages portfolios pending allocation to specific accounting teams. Responsibilities include ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial statements, reviewing monthly financials and general ledger, and verifying daily transactions for accuracy and compliance. Additionally, the role supports Property Management in preparing Annual Budgets and CAM Reconciliations.

• Perform the full accounting cycle
• Provide internal and external financial reporting
• Analyze financial performance with Property Management
• Support budgeting and expense reconciliation
• Prepare reports and analyses with limited supervision
• Lead customer service interactions and assist with complex issues
• Mentor team members
• Prepare monthly financial packages, including journal entries, depreciation, amortization, ledger review, bank reconciliations, and variance comments
• Meet reporting deadlines
• Communicate regularly with property management and clients
• Handle sales tax returns as applicable
• Manage cash accounts, utilities, taxes, mortgages, and owner distributions
• Review and process payables and vendor invoices
• Assist with project transitions
• Ensure SOC I compliance
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Accounting or related field
• 3-8 years of relevant experience
• Real estate industry experience preferred
• Strong quantitative and accounting skills
• Understanding of accounting principles
• Knowledge of budgets and CAM reconciliations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Experience with Yardi and/or MRI preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Self-motivated, able to multi-task, and deadline-oriented
