Overview

An expanding commercial real estate firm is seeking a skilled Property Accountant to support its growing portfolio. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong operational performance.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including balance sheet and cash account reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable activities for assigned properties.
• Prepare and analyze financial variance reports.
• Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis.
• Manage debt schedules, loan payments, and related documentation.
• Create, review, and maintain properly supported journal entries.
• Contribute to the preparation of budgets and forecasts, partnering with finance leadership and asset management.
• Calculate management, acquisition, and other property-related fees as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve and streamline accounting processes.
• Record cash receipts, receivables, and other general ledger transactions accurately and promptly.
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual property-level financial statements.
• Support ad hoc analyses and special projects as requested by management or clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience using Yardi or comparable real estate accounting software preferred.
• Prior experience in commercial real estate accounting is required.
