Job summary

CFS, in partnership with a real estate property management firm, seeks a Property Accountant to manage accounting for 15–20 properties monthly. You will update property workbooks, process invoices, and support budget processes with a focus on accurate month-end close.

The role requires 3–5 years in property accounting, Yardi MRI experience is a plus, and a bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance. Hybrid work environment in Boston area with competitive salary.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience in property accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• Yardi experience; MRI experience a plus.
• Experience with commercial retail properties is desired.

Responsibilities

• Represent and close 15 to 20 properties monthly in full.
• Update monthly property workbooks and codify month-end process.
• Process invoices, vendor communication, and resolve discrepancies.
• Upload information for budget template and support Account Executives in the annual budget process.
• Perform timely bank reconciliations and monitor cash positions for properties.
• Analyze monthly financial packages and support budget-to-actual variance analyses.
• Complete monthly client financial packages and year-end audit packages.

Responsibilities of the Property Accountant Role

• Responsible for representing and closing 15 to 20 properties per monthly in full
• Update monthly property workbooks that codifies month-end process
• Process invoices, vendor communication, resolve discrepancies, in a timely manner
• Upload information for budget template and support Account Executives in the annual budget process
• Timely completion of bank reconciliations and on-going cash position of properties
• Analyze monthly financial package and support budget-to-actual variance analysis
• Monthly client financial package completion
• Complete year end audit packages

Qualifications for the Property Accountant

• 3-5 years' experience in property accounting
• Experience with commercial retail properties is desired
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related experience
• Experience in Yardi is preferred; experience in MRI is a huge plus

Salary Range, negotiable depending on experience

$70,000 - 80,000
