Job summary

Superior Plus Propane is seeking a Propane Specialist to safely deliver propane, load and unload, and provide exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include identifying leaks, conducting tank installations and inspections, coordinating with dispatch, and maintaining clean vehicles and logs.

A valid CDL with Tanker/Hazmat endorsements is preferred, along with DOT medical certification and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year delivery driver experience.
• CDL Class A or B with tanker endorsement preferred; Hazmat preferred.
• DOT medical certification and clean driving record required or in progress.
• Legal authorization to work in the US; sponsorship not offered.

Responsibilities

• Deliver propane safely to customers and load/unload as needed.
• Identify and correct any leaks from tank to equipment connections.
• Perform tank installations, inspections and routine maintenance.

Job description

The Propane Specialist is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of propane to our customers. The Propane Specialist will deliver, load and unload propane while providing exceptional customer service. Our Propane Specialist are also accountable for upholding the highest standards for safety in the delivery and handling of propane and for conducting regular vehicle inspections and maintenance.

What you’ll do:

• Propane service and tank installation.
• Able toidentifyand correct any leaks from the tank to equipment connection.
• Respond to customer emergencies as needed
• Rotate "on call" status during evenings and weekends as needed
• Perform tankmaintenancespare tanks located in the plants in preparation for putting them in service.
• Complete tank inspections and repairs at customer locations.
• Consistently communicate proactively with the Service Coordinator, Logistics Coordinator, Sales reps, drivers, and customers as necessary
• Transfer, collect, load, and deliver propane products to and from containers (bulk truck, tanks, and/or cylinders) for customers. Initiate and conduct the asset verification process. Collect customer signatures/stamps and payments for deposit if necessary. Offer customer brochures with basic price lists and a contact number. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Leverage technology where available to: Monitor and track the transfer of propane inventory, tank levels and container sizing; accurately record and print delivery tickets for customers for product delivered; accurately complete and submit daily driver reports where necessary.
• Maintain equipment to the highest level of safety standards, reporting any mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager/Dispatcher. Conduct and, if applicable, document pre and post vehicle inspections, site inspections and visual tank inspections.
• Collaborate with the Dispatcher frequently for routing and scheduling information. Notify the Dispatcher of any product, customer, routing, scheduling, or safety issues immediately to obtain their guidance and instruction on how to resolve the issue or situation.
• Provide Propane tank installations in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all state/local codes and safety policies. Identify and correct any leaks from the tank to equipment connection. Respond to customer emergencies as needed. Complete tank inspections and repairs at customer locations. Perform tank maintenance on spare tanks in preparation of installation.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

What you bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year delivery driver experience
• CDL Class A or B
• Tanker & Hazmat Endorsements preferred
• NH/VT Gas Fitter's License preferred
• Clean drivers abstract
• Up-to-date DOT medical certification
• Willingness to rotate "on call" status during evenings and weekends as needed.
