Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Propane Specialist in Pittsfield, MA to ensure safe and timely delivery of propane to customers. You will load, unload, and deliver propane, perform basic vehicle inspections, and provide excellent service while upholding safety standards.

Responsibilities include monitoring inventory, completing delivery tickets, coordinating with dispatch, and performing tank installations in compliance with codes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year propane experience.
• CDL Class A or B with Tanker & Hazmat Endorsements.
• Clean driving record; up-to-date DOT medical certification.
• Willingness to rotate on-call status during evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Transfer, collect, load, and deliver propane products to and from containers for customers; initiate asset verification and collect signatures.
• Monitor transfer of propane inventory and print delivery tickets; submit daily driver reports.
• Maintain equipment to safety standards; conduct pre/post vehicle inspections and site inspections as applicable.
• Collaborate with Dispatcher for routing, scheduling, and safety issue resolution.
• Provide propane tank installations in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with codes; identify leaks and perform repairs as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Propane Specialist is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of propane to our customers. The Propane Specialist will deliver, load and unload propane while providing exceptional customer service. Our Propane Specialist are also accountable for upholding the highest standards for safety in the delivery and handling of propane and for conducting regular vehicle inspections and maintenance.

What you’ll do:

• Transfer, collect, load, and deliver propane products to and from containers (bulk truck, tanks, and/or cylinders) for customers. Initiate and conduct the asset verification process. Collect customer signatures/stamps and payments for deposit if necessary. Offer customer brochures with basic price lists and a contact number. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Leverage technology where available to: Monitor and track the transfer of propane inventory, tank levels and container sizing; accurately record and print delivery tickets for customers for product delivered; accurately complete and submit daily driver reports where necessary.
• Maintain equipment to the highest level of safety standards, reporting any mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager/Dispatcher. Conduct and, if applicable, document pre and post vehicle inspections, site inspections and visual tank inspections.
• Collaborate with the Dispatcher frequently for routing and scheduling information. Notify the Dispatcher of any product, customer, routing, scheduling, or safety issues immediately to obtain their guidance and instruction on how to resolve the issue or situation.
• Provide Propane tank installations in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all state/local codes and safety policies. Identify and correct any leaks from the tank to equipment connection. Respond to customer emergencies as needed. Complete tank inspections and repairs at customer locations. Perform tank maintenance on spare tanks in preparation of installation.

What you bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one (1) year job related (Propane) experience
• CDL Class A or B with Tanker & Hazmat Endorsements
• Clean drivers abstract
• Up-to-date DOT medical certification
• Willingness to rotate “on call” status during evenings and weekends as needed.
• Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening.

Pay Transparency:

The hourly rate ranges from $30.00-$35.00 with flexibility for highly qualified candidates based on industry experience, CDL/Hazmat endorsements, and technical expertise.
