Job summary

Kent Oil & Propane is seeking a propane technician to install propane tanks and related equipment in compliance with NFPA 58/54 and all regulations. The role requires CDL Class A or B, Tanker and HazMat endorsements, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

You will work outdoors and participate in an on-call rotation. Shadowing a senior technician, onboarding for CDL endorsements, and mastering EDP processes are part of the first 30 days.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A or B CDL.
• Tankers and HazMat endorsements (or ability to obtain quickly).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
• TSA clearance approved hazardous materials.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work outdoors and participate in after-hours on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Install propane tanks and related equipment in full compliance with NFPA 58/54 and all state/local regulations.
• Complete any required state licensing, certifications, and ongoing training.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections (DVIR) and maintain your truck in excellent working condition.
• Complete accurate service orders, documentation, and parts billing each day.
• Provide seasonal delivery support by operating a delivery vehicle when needed.
• Report any incidents or safety concerns immediately to the General Manager.
• Work in varied outdoor conditions and participate in an on‑call rotation as business needs require.

What To Expect In Your First 30 Days

• Shadow a senior technician to learn our safety standards, installation methods, and customer service expectations.
• Complete onboarding training for CDL endorsements, propane safety, and state-specific compliance requirements.
• Begin performing supervised tank installations and equipment servicing to build proficiency with EDP processes.
• Learn our service order and documentation systems to complete work independently and accurately.

• Strong customer communication and professional presence
• Basic computer skills for service orders and documentation

Pay Rate for this role is $23-28 hourly (depending on experience)
