Job Summary:

Propane Service Technicians are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial heating systems, as well as related tanks and piping.

Description

Job Responsibilities:

• Installs, maintains, and repairs tanks, piping, heating equipment, and appliances at customer sites.
• Communicates with dispatchers, maintains schedules, and informs customers of delays.
• Documents all work with details and photos.
• Diagnoses electrical and mechanical issues.
• Explains issues and solutions to customers.
• Conveys company pricing and services clearly.
• Replaces parts, calibrates systems, and tests functionality.
• Identifies opportunities for additional services or sales.
• Completes customer signatures and updates contact info.
• Reports issues requiring repairs or affecting service.
• Maintains vehicle stock, tools, and safety equipment.
• Ensures proper vehicle maintenance and cleanliness.
• Participates in industry training.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

Technical Skills:

• At least three years of propane service experience (waived for trainees).
• Relevant licenses (NH Gas Fitter, NH Master Plumber, MA LP Installer, ME Technician) or trainee credentials.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to read blueprints and manuals.
• Ability to pass drug, alcohol, and physical tests.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and on-call shifts.

Additional Information:

• This is a non-exempt hourly position with electronic timekeeping.
• Work involves standing, walking, bending, and kneeling; accommodations available for disabilities.
