Job summary

Superior Plus Propane is seeking an experienced Service Technician to join our Oakdale team. You will perform propane service and tank installations, identify leaks, respond to emergencies, and participate in on-call rotations while upholding safety and customer satisfaction.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, CT G1/G2 or RI PJ/PJF licensing (or willingness to obtain CT license), 2–3 years propane/oil service, and a CDL Class A or B with Hazmat preferred or obtainable within 6 weeks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CT G1/G2 or RI PJ/PJF license; CT G1/G2 or equivalent; willingness to obtain CT license if RI license held.
• 2–3 years propane/oil service experience preferred; HVAC experience a plus.
• CDL Class A or B required; Hazmat endorsement preferred or obtainable within 6 weeks.
• Legal work authorization in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide propane service and tank installation at customer sites.
• Identify and fix leaks from tank to equipment connections.
• Respond to customer emergencies as needed and rotate on-call duties.
• Maintain and service spare tanks and perform routine inspections and repairs.
• Possibly assist with bobtail propane deliveries when needed.
• Communicate proactively with service, CSC managers, dispatchers, sales, drivers, and customers.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Service Technician to join our team in Oakdale. Superior Plus Propane is a premier propane company with exceptional employees who look out for one another's safety. What you'll do:

• Propane service and tank installation.
• Able to identify and correct any leaks from the tank to equipment connection.
• Respond to customer emergencies as needed
• Rotate 'on call' status during evenings and weekends as needed
• Perform tank maintenance spare tanks located in the plants in preparation for putting them in service.
• Complete tank inspections and repairs at customer locations.
• Will be cross trained to assist with bobtail truck propane deliveries as needed
• Consistently communicate proactively with the Service Manager, CSC Manager, Dispatcher, Sales reps, drivers, and customers as necessary

What you bring:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree
• Connecticut G1 or G2 Trade License (or equivalent - P1, P2, S1 or S2 license)
  OR
  Rhode Island PJF or PJ license with willingness to obtain a Connecticut license (G2 or G1) within required timelines
• 2-3 years propane/oil service preferred; HVAC
• CDL Class A or B required
• Hazmat endorsement preferred or willingness to obtain within 6 weeks of hire
• Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening.

The hourly rate for this position is $35.00 - $40.00 per hour, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates based on industry experience, CDL/Hazmat endorsements, and technical expertise. Individuals with G1, S2, or other higher level licensing will be evaluated at a higher range.
