Palmetto Propane, Fuels, and Ice is seeking an experienced Service Technician Apprentice with a focus on safety for our Batesburg location. The role involves assisting with system installations, routine maintenance, and equipment repairs across residential, commercial, and agricultural settings.

Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, possess a valid driver's license, and are eager to learn company tools and dispatch systems while maintaining strong customer service and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.
• Mechanically-inclined with interest in trades and technical work.
• Experience in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical trades preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Willing to learn company mobile tools and dispatch systems.
• Availability to work full-time hours and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles.
• Assist with installation, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of propane equipment and systems.
• Maintain clean and organized trucks and equipment to reflect professionalism.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and management.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.
• Learn and adhere to company safety guidelines.
• Learn and adhere to OSHA, DOT, and all state/federal safety transport regulations.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
