Job summary

Palmetto Propane in South Carolina is seeking a Junior Service Apprentice to learn a skilled trade and start a long-term career in the propane industry. You will support service technicians, install monitoring equipment, and assist with installations, repairs, and maintenance, gaining hands-on experience in safety procedures and customer service.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliability, with training provided on equipment use and industry standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to learn a skilled trade.
• Strong safety mindset and dependability.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Basic computer and smartphone skills.
• Ability to complete pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, and maintain propane and fuel tank monitoring equipment at residential and commercial locations.
• Perform cathodic protection testing on underground tanks after training.
• Record and submit inspection, installation, and testing documentation.
• Assist Service Technicians with installations, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Operate company vehicles safely and complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain vehicles, tools, and work areas in clean condition.
• Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, coworkers, and management.
• Follow safety policies and PPE practices.
• Complete training and certifications.
• Learn and follow OSHA, DOT, NFPA standards.
• Represent Palmetto Propane professionally at customer locations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
