Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation seeks a Service Tech Apprentice to join a structured training program in propane service, installation, maintenance, and delivery for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. You will rotate through duties under supervision to gain career-ready competencies in the propane field operations team.

Responsibilities include learning safety protocols, assisting with equipment, and developing documentation and inspection skills while supporting customer

Qualifications

• Entry level position with some mechanical knowledge preferred.
• Ability to obtain CDL Class B with Hazmat and tanker endorsements within 6 months.
• DOT Physical required within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation, maintenance, and repair of propane systems.
• Shadow licensed technicians and CDL drivers to learn safety protocols.
• Participate in ride-alongs and support delivery of propane products.
• Learn to read gauges, meters, and service logs and complete documentation.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections per DOT.
