Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a Propane Service Technician I to safely install, maintain, and repair propane systems for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. You will troubleshoot propane appliances and ensure compliance with safety standards while delivering excellent customer service.

You will perform gas service installations, set tanks, size and install gas lines, operate a service truck crane, and document all work and inventory.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Valid CDL with Hazmat & Tanker endorsements or ability to obtain.
• Propane experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs gas service installations and sets tanks per applicable codes.
• Informs customers on proper handling and use of propane appliances.
• Sizes and installs gas lines as required.
• Operates service truck crane safely to install/remove tanks.
• Makes connections to appliances according to code.
• Maintains tanks and equipment, checks for leaks and repairs as needed.
• Conducts pressure, leak and operating tests with proper documentation.
• Completes work orders documenting materials and time expended.
• Connects/Disconnects gas service as needed.
• Records inventory of company assets, including tanks, appliances and parts.
• Serves on on-call rotation and responds to emergency service calls.
