Job summary

CFS is seeking a propane service technician to install, inspect and service propane tanks, equipment and systems while delivering outstanding customer care.

You will educate customers on safe propane use, perform routine inspections, and maintain accurate paperwork. This role requires CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements, valid license, and the ability to work independently or in a team in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• One year relevant experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team.
• Strong organizational skills and multi-tasking ability.
• Capable of independent work and self-motivation.
• Valid CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements; Class B with air brake.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect and service propane tanks, equipment and systems following codes.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and educate customers on safe use.
• Complete invoices and paperwork promptly.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report items.
• Assist with propane delivery and other operations as needed.
• Adhere to safety policies and observe OSHA regulations.

Description

Position Objective: In this job, the team member will install, inspect and service propane tanks, equipment and systems and provide outstanding customer service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Install, inspect and service customer propane tanks equipment and systems following all codes of standards and regulations.
• Ensure customer satisfaction.
• Educate customers on the safe use of propane and appliances.
• Accurately complete all invoices and related paperwork in a timely manner.
• Make routine sales calls
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Report all maintenance items to supervisor.
• Maintain equipment in operational and cleanly appearances at all times.
• Assist with other operations – propane delivery
• Know and follow all company safety policies/procedure. Perform work in a safe manner while observing all traffic laws and all OSHA state and federal safety regulations
• Represent yourself and CFS professionally at all times in action and appearance.
• Make decisions and follow instructions with little or no supervision
• Perform other duties and projects as requested by supervisor or management

Requirements

Licensing, Certification and Qualification:

• One year relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, customers and the general public.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Self- motivated/self -directed.
• Ability to make independent judgments, which have moderate impacts on the organization.
• Good organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks.
• Maintain a valid CDL license with hazmat and tanker endorsements. Maintain air brake endorsement with class B CDL.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Working Environment: Will be subject to outside weather conditions that include but are not limited to heat, cold, humid conditions, dry conditions, rain and snow.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to climb ladders and stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, work around moving equipment and be on feet and moving for extended periods of time. Frequent use of arms and legs to lift, push pull and otherwise move weights of 50-80 pounds. Some tasks will require good finger and manual dexterity.
