Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a Service Manager to lead safe installation, maintenance, and repair of propane systems at customer locations in Newark, DE. You will manage field technicians, ensure compliance with safety codes, and develop estimates while maintaining strong customer communications.

Requirements include a High School diploma, 5 years in propane/related fields, CDL B HazMat or rapid acquisition, CETP certifications, and knowledge of NFPA codes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Five years’ experience in propane or related business (HVAC, plumbing, piping, or fuels).
• CDL Class B HazMat or ability to acquire within 6 months of hire or transfer.
• CETP certification: 1.0, 2.2, 3.1-3.5, 4.1-4.2 within 12 months of hire or transfer.
• NFPA 58, NFPA 54, and state/local building codes knowledge.
• Excellent customer contact, supervisory, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Trains field technicians to repair, install, and maintain propane systems.
• Coordinates service work in the field and monitors work orders.
• Manages parts and appliance inventories; orders equipment just-in-time.
• Communicates with customers regarding service concerns and invoicing.
• Reviews payroll items for direct reports and evaluates work orders for accuracy.
