Job summary

Five Star Cooperative is seeking a Propane Director to drive the propane department's business results, oversee operations, routing, sales, purchasing, and safety across the geographic area. The role emphasizes leadership, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance to improve market share and efficiency.

The Propane Director will supervise department staff, marketing, profitability, reporting, and inventory, while aligning goals with the General Manager and company strategy.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Agriculture, or related field preferred.
• Experience may be substituted for education.
• 5 years of experience in energy operations, propane, fuel distribution, or related field.
• Prior leadership or management experience.

Responsibilities

• Establishes department goals with assistance from the GM.
• Develops and implements energy department marketing plans, objective, and policies.
• Provides leadership, direction, and support to department employees.
• Responsible for product purchasing and establishing product margins that meet financial goals.
• Aids in developing programs to maximize efficiency of the company’s energy presence.
• Develops annual and long-term strategic and operational plans for the department.
