The Projections Analyst supports the Labor Market Information (LMI) Team in developing employment projections by industry and occupation for Maryland and its local areas. The analyst produces data on Maryland's industries and occupations to support sector-focused workforce development strategies and provides technical assistance to teams developing important economic datasets such as Local Area Unemployment Statistics (LAUS), Current Employment Statistics (CES), Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW), and Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS). The analyst serves as a backup for the CES and LAUS programs and works with the BLS Programs Administrator to develop data quality checks to ensure high levels of accuracy in employment data by industry and occupation.
This position is limited to current employees of the Maryland Department of Labor.
Employees may be required to operate a motor vehicle and must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license in the State of Maryland.
All candidates are subject to a background check against files maintained by the Division of Unemployment Insurance (MD Labor/DUI) to determine whether any monies are owed to MD Labor/DUI as a result of unemployment insurance overpayment/fraud. Any unpaid debt may affect eligibility for employment.
