Project Technician – Research to join our Environmental Due Diligence & Remediation (EDR) team in our Berkey and/or Okemos, MI offices.
As the ideal candidate, you are excited to join the team to support EDR by gathering critical data from diverse sources and providing organized, detail-oriented assistance to ensure the successful completion of projects. In this role you will learn about the business, build your own professional network and work closely with senior professionals in the industry. The Project Technician - Research position is ideal for someone looking to build their skills for career advancement and professional growth. The ideal candidate will be familiar with relevant state regulations and have at least 1-3 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry.
A Day in the life of Project Technician – Research
- Gather and review data from diverse sources for use in Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and other due diligence projects.
- Evaluate whether additional or alternative information is needed to meet ASTM standards and/or specific client requirements.
- Assess the accuracy and relevance of collected data and determine the most effective way to present findings to the Project Manager.
- Collaborate with municipalities and government agencies to obtain and review essential records, such as city directory abstracts and environmental files.
- Maintain positive working relationships with external entities to support smooth project execution.
- Contribute to process improvements within areas of focus, including aerial imagery, city directories, and municipal/state/federal records.
- Provide research support across all business units, including property research, document retrieval, site inspections, and municipal records reviews.
- Assist with the organization and maintenance of Project Manager archives as needed.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all assigned tasks in accordance with project schedules.
- Other job duties as assigned.
What You Bring To The Pinchin Team
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology, or a related field is preferred.
- 1-3 years of related experience.
- Excellent writing, editing, technical and organizational skills along with the ability to solve problems.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and attention to detail skills.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, adequate insurance, and availability to travel for work when required. Mileage is paid when a personal vehicle is used.
- Availability to work outside core business hours. Overtime is a requirement of the position.
- Ability to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, and the ability to pass a company physical.
