The Team Lead serves as the primary on-site leader and representative for Iron Mountain's relocation operations at their assigned facility. Acting with independent authority, the Team Lead is directly accountable for team productivity, physical safety, strict chain-of-custody tracking, and ensuring that archival and federal records are relocated in precise sequential order.
On-Site Operational Leadership: Manage and direct all on-site material handling activities (pulling, loading, staging, unloading, weighing, and sorting).
Chain-of-Custody & Audit Compliance: Supervise the 12-step verification and tracking process. Participate in joint inspections with NARA, sign off on pull lists, and verify government-furnished trailer cable seals.
File Plan & Sequence Control: Oversee high-bay retrieval operations (shelves up to 15 feet). Ensure records are pulled, staged, and reshelved in precise chronological/numerical sequence, maintaining vertical shelf load balancing (loading bottom shelves first).
Safety & Equipment Oversight: Ensure OSHA compliance and crew safety. Supervise teams handling loads of up to 50 lbs, utilizing mobile lifts, wheeled carts, and pallet jacks. Coordinate with certified forklift operators to ensure secure pallet wrapping, corner guard installation, and damage-free transport loading.
Client Liaison: Maintain daily, frequent communication with the NARA Shipping Coordinator and on-site Points of Contact. Immediately halt operations and report any discrepancies, missing files, or damaged boxes to NARA for instruction
Site Management & Cleanup: Plan daily tasks and reassign tasks dynamically to resolve unbalanced workloads.
Experience: Proven supervisory background in large-scale records management, logistics, warehousing, or relocation projects/programs.
National Security Compliance: Strictly US Citizens only (no dual citizenships permitted under NOFORN restrictions).
Workplace Integrity: Must demonstrate unquestionable integrity, mature judgment, and independent decision-making capabilities in fast-paced operational environments.
Mandatory Training: Must complete NARA's on-site orientation and IRS Disclosure/Safeguards Training (IRC Section 6103) on taxpayer confidentiality before handling records.
