Job summary

Control Point Associates is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager in Warren or Boonton, NJ. The role emphasizes leadership of survey field crews, coordination across teams, and ensuring timely project delivery.

The ideal candidate has extensive surveying experience with 2–3 years in a management capacity, a Bachelor’s degree (SIT preferred), and strong AutoCAD Civil 3D skills. Office-based, with potential overtime, in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of surveying field experience with 2–3 years of management experience.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred; SIT (Surveyor in Training) preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Assist in training and management of survey field crews, CAD Drafters, Survey Technicians and support staff.
• Communicate effectively across all teams and business units.
• Assist in the financial management of survey projects, including contract preparation, billing reports, invoicing and collections.
• Boundary analysis and computations of ALTA, topographic, utility and roadway surveys using Civil 3D and other software.
• Construction stakeout services including field setup and quality control of stakeout projects.
• Quality control of survey documents, including plans, plots, metes and bounds, and title review.
• Assist with client meetings, conference calls and coordination.
• Business development – identify potential new clients and maintain existing relations.
• Contract preparation and project workflow management under supervision of a PM.
• Other duties as assigned.

Control Point Associates is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager in our Warren or Boonton, NJ office. Essential Functions

• Assist in training and management of survey field crews, CAD Drafters, Survey Technicians and support staff.
• Communicate effectively across all teams and business units.
• Assist in the financial management of survey projects, including contract preparation, billing reports, invoicing and collections.
• Boundary analysis and computations of ALTA, topographic, utility and roadway surveys utilizing Civil 3D and other industry standard software.
• Construction stakeout services including field setup and quality control of construction stakeout projects.
• Quality control of all survey documents, including survey plans, record plots, metes and bounds descriptions, and review of title commitment reports. Includes peer review of other office project teams' deliverables.
• Assist with client meetings, conference calls and coordination.
• Business development – identify potential new clients, attend marketing events/conferences and maintain existing client relations.
• Contract preparation.
• Provide overall daily management of project workflow, staffing, and deadlines under the supervision of a project manager.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in surveying field with 2-3 years of management experience.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred, SIT (Surveyor in Training even better!)
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Ability to relate to clients and people at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to successfully manage tight deadlines and multitask.
• Possess excellent communications, diplomacy and listening skills; specifically, be accessible and responsive to the needs of clients.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret drawings and the most complex documents.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Attend internal and external events and functions.
