Job summary

Paycom is seeking a Project Surveyor to lead and coordinate surveying efforts for complex projects in Florida, including field and office teams, schedules, and cost tracking. You will oversee conventional, GPS, and Laser Scanning surveys, negotiate scopes of work, and ensure compliance with Florida standards.

The role requires strong client communication, training of field staff, and the ability to read engineering plans.

Qualifications

• Recent completion or near completion of Florida PSM licensure per 5J-17.021.
• Minimum 4 years surveying experience as Party Chief or CAD Technician.
• Ability to obtain PSM licensure within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Manage surveying activities for conventional, GPS, and Laser Scanning surveys.
• Create scope of work for projects through client negotiation and coordination with PM, field crew and CAD.
• Ensure final product meets Florida standards and client requirements.
• Develop schedules and prepare cost/time estimates for proposals.
• Provide day-to-day guidance to field personnel and train staff as needed.
• Verify research for projects before field release.
• Organize post-project reviews and document lessons learned and cost variances.
• Maintain project folders and support scanning/archiving workflows.
• Read and interpret engineering plans and construction documents.
• Occasionally perform field surveying tasks and on-site coordination.
