Job description

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Project Surveyor to join our Survey/Geospatial team in Connecticut.

Our survey professionals are committed to achieving highly accurate results while maintaining quality control from field data collection to final client deliverables. We utilize conventional surveying methods, cutting-edge geospatial scanning techniques, or a combination of both, with a team of licensed land surveyors, highly-trained office technicians, and field crews working seamlessly to provide responsive and consistent survey services. Our approach ensures clients receive the most accurate surveying and measurement services.

Responsibilities
  1. Analyze and prepare complete boundary surveys by compiling record data and providing sound analysis to accurately locate property lines.
  2. Perform Quality Control reviews on reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and other contract documents for accuracy and completeness.
  3. Compute layouts for subdivisions, roads, lots, buildings, and utilities accurately.
  4. Assist in preparing reports, plans, and other contract documents.
  5. Organize and coordinate the work of field and office staff for complex projects.
  6. Assist in preparing project and task work plans.
  7. Provide direction to staff to meet project objectives.
  8. Monitor work efforts of staff, sub-consultants, and contractors.
  9. Supervise assignments given to Survey Technician(s) as needed.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree preferred or equivalent technical experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D, TBC (Trimble Business Center), and MicroStation.
  • Knowledge of various data techniques and coding systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of surveying instruments, techniques, and computations.
  • Strong understanding of angular and linear measurement systems.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle; MVR will be checked.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English for communication purposes.

Note: A pre-employment drug screen is required, and ongoing participation in the employer's random drug and alcohol testing program is mandatory.
