Job summary

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) in Piketon, OH, is seeking a Project Support Manager with extensive project management experience to oversee all facets of assigned projects and ensure contract requirements, safety standards, and budgets are met.

The role involves staffing, leadership, interface with clients and auditors, and coordination across construction disciplines to deliver project support services on time and within scope.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in a related field with 13+ years of project managerial experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of nuclear facility Project Support
• Knowledge of DOE nuclear facility safety requirements and reporting
• Attention to detail
• Expert PC skills including Microsoft software
• DOE "Q" clearance or ability to obtain a DOE "Q" clearance

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and organize the work to ensure utilization of employees and compliance with all contract requirements, quality standards and budgetary guidelines
• Maintain staffing levels of supervised personnel to ensure effective execution of the contract scope
• Instruct employees on work methods and performance expectations
• Provide leadership and motivation to subordinate personnel
• Maintain close working relationships with senior/operational management to ensure proper execution and client satisfaction
• Interface with groups inside and outside the organization, auditors and client representatives
• Develop or review/update plans, policies or procedures as needed
• Responsible for personnel actions and performance appraisals
• Administratively manage fiscal and administrative functions including office services, contract administration, procurement, warehousing, payroll and document control
• Coordinate with project and client management to ensure compliance with contract provisions
• Coordinate crafts within a discipline with the overall construction effort
• Supervise field construction activities to meet plans, specs, schedules and cost estimates
• Participate in business development activities
• Oversee total operation of all assigned projects
• Administer contracts per company policies for project benefit
• Manage projects and administrative systems
• Direct all service functions for one or more medium to large projects
• Budgetary responsibility
• Provide technical/functional support to Project Support team
• Perform duties complex in nature
• Maintain safety knowledge and practices per policies and regulations
• If supervising, ensure safety of supervised personnel
• Participate in Safety Work Groups
• Other duties as assigned
