Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering and up to 3 years' experience in fire protection work or equivalent education/experience such as work with piping/mechanical systems, building construction, or control/alarm systems.
• Typical experience ranges from 0 to 3 years.
• Must be able to obtain a DOE 'L' clearance.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes buildings, transportation systems, and materials for potential fire hazards and design fire prevention and suppression systems.
• Research causes of fires and design or recommend materials or equipment to safeguard life and property against fire, explosions, and related hazards.
• May act as a lead and perform work under minimal supervision.
