Venture Global LNG in Houston is seeking a Project Superintendent, Marine to lead marine infrastructure, berth, dredging, and vessel support projects in support of terminal operations and construction programs.

You will manage scopes, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and timely execution while coordinating with shipping, operations, engineering, and external contractors.

Qualifications

  • Marine experience and marine project experience required.
  • Knowledge of LNG tankers favorable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, Logistics or related field, or 5 years of work experience.
  • Familiarity with maritime regulations (USCG, IMO, ISGOTT, SIGTTO).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Maritime Studies, or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years in the marine industry focusing on marine projects, port and terminal operations.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • PMP certification preferred.

Job Posting – Project Superintendent, Marine

We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Project Superintendent, Marine. This role reports to the Director, Marine Operations, supporting the development of marine operations, across Venture Global LNG by working closely with the LNG terminals, various marine sectors and multiple internal and external departments.

Summary

The Project Superintendent, Marine is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing marine related projects in support of operational, construction, maintenance, and strategic business objectives. The role oversees project delivery from initiation through completion, ensuring projects and executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and company standards. The Marine Project Superintendent works closely with shipping, operations, engineering, contractors, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to support efficient marine operations and infrastructure development.

General Description Duties & Responsibilities
Project Management
  • Lead marine infrastructure, terminal, berth, dredging, vessel support, and waterfront-related projects.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and execution plans.
  • Complete marine assurance reviews and validations, including completing simulation work and developing supporting reports etc. required by the project.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Monitor project progress, costs, and performance metrics.
  • Manage project reporting and communicate status updates to leadership.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, constraints, and operational impacts.
Marine Operations Support
  • Coordinate projects to minimize disruption to ongoing marine operations.
  • Collaborate with marine operations teams on berth planning, vessel logistics, and operational readiness.
  • Support emergency response planning and operational contingency activities when required.
Contractor and Vendor Management
  • Manage consultants, contractors, and marine service providers.
  • Review contractor performance for safety, quality, schedule, and compliance.
  • Participate in bid evaluations, contract administration, and procurement coordination.
  • Ensure contractor activities comply with company standards and permit requirements.
Safety and Compliance
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all applicable maritime, environmental, and occupational safety regulations.
  • Participate in hazard assessments, job safety analyses, and incident reviews.
  • Ensure projects comply with regulatory permits, environmental commitments, and engineering standards.
  • Support audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting activities.
Stakeholder Coordination
  • Interface with engineering, operations, maintenance, HSSE, commercial, and regulatory teams.
  • Coordinate with port authorities, government agencies, and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Support leadership presentations, project reviews, and operational planning meetings.
Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, change logs, and cost tracking records.
  • Prepare project reports, lessons learned, and closeout documentation.
  • Support development of procedures, standards, and project execution guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Marine experience, including marine project experience is required for this role.
  • Some marine experience and knowledge of LNG tankers although not required, would be favorable.

Work Conditions
  • Combination of office, field, terminal, and marine operational environments.
  • Periodic travel to project sites, terminals, shipyards, or vendor locations may be required.
  • Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases or operational events.
  • National and potential international travel can be expected.
  • Must be able to board a ship via a gangway, climb to the top of a tank (200+ steps), scale vertical steel ladder up to forty feet or more in height and lift and move objects weighting up to 30 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work indoors & outdoors, and be exposed to year-around weather conditions, ocean environment, and noise. There is a considerable number of outdoor activities involved.
