Job summary

Fahs Construction Group in New York State seeks a Project Superintendent to own field operations on commercial, higher education, or healthcare projects from layout through closeout. You will lead the on-site team with responsibility for safety, quality, schedule, and budget.

The role requires 5+ years of construction experience, proficiency reading plans, and familiarity with Prolog, MS Project, Excel, and other management tools.

Qualifications

• Experience leading field operations on commercial, higher education, or healthcare projects.

• Knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, and safety requirements on construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day site operations from layout through punch list.
• Manage on-site foremen and scale craft labor to the work.
• Set up site logistics, temporary utilities, and drive testing, permits, turnover.
• Build and maintain the schedule with two-week look‑aheads with the PM.
• Control budgets for labor, materials, equipment, and trucking.
• Coordinate deliveries, verify quantities, and track equipment with daily inspections.
• Lead weekly progress meetings; review subs on contract and schedule.
• Uphold Fahs quality standards on all work; track changes and charges.
• Lead safety routines: toolbox talks, site walks, OSHA compliance; maintain reports.

What You Can Expect

As a Project Superintendent, your key responsibilities will include:

• Field Leadership

  • Run day-to-day site operations from layout through punch list
  • Manage on-site foremen and scale craft labor to the work
  • Set up site logistics, temporary utilities, and drive testing, permits, and turnover

  Schedule & Budget

  • Build and maintain the schedule, including two-week look-aheads, with the Project Manager
  • Hold labor, material, equipment, and trucking budgets
  • Coordinate deliveries, verify quantities, and track equipment with daily inspections

  Subcontractor & Quality Management

  • Run weekly progress meetings, keep subs on contract and schedule, review billings
  • Uphold Fahs quality standards on self-performed and subcontracted work
  • Track changes, back charges, and T&M tickets

  Safety & Documentation

  • Lead weekly toolbox talks, daily walk-throughs, and OSHA/Fahs compliance
  • Keep daily reports, safety documentation, and payroll current in HH2

How You Know to Apply

You're a strong candidate for this role if you bring:

Knowledge & Skills

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• 5+ years of related experience or an equivalent role (commercial, higher education, and healthcare construction experience preferred)
• Knowledge of civil engineering, construction, and architectural principles, practices, and methods
• Sound understanding of workplace safety, budgeting, and crew supervision
• Proficiency reading building plans and specifications
• Familiarity with construction management software such as Prolog, MS Project, Excel, SureTrak, and Submittal Exchange
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, analytical, and prioritization skills
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
• OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred

Physical Demands

• Will climb ladders
• Loud construction noise levels expected
• Required PPE: Fahs-issued hard hat, vest, and safety glasses
• Reliable transportation required
