Job summary

Jobtailor in Tennessee is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to supervise the on-site renovation of a university dormitory, ensuring safety, quality, and timely completion.

You will coordinate multiple trades, lead scheduling efforts, and partner with the project leadership team to align field work with project goals; Procore and MS Office fluency are required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Typically 5–10 years of experience in General Construction.
  • Background in project management, project coordination or related work.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Working proficiency with handheld computers (i.e. Smartphone, iPad).
  • Experience with Procore preferred.
  • State Contractor Licenses preferred (e.g. HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer).
  • OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
  • Valid driver’s license held for a minimum of 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in ensuring projects are completed to the company and customer standards.
  • Lead on-site construction activities for the complete renovation of a university dormitory.
  • Supervise building renovation, infrastructure upgrades, utility trade work, subcontractors, vendors, and field staff.
  • Develop and maintain a jobsite culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and quality.
  • Partner with the Project Manager and project leadership team to align field execution with project goals.
  • Lead pull planning, short-interval planning, and look-ahead scheduling.
  • Coordinate demolition, abatement-related activities, structural modifications, interior build-out, MEP systems, and utility upgrades.
  • Manage milestone dates, schedule risks, and recovery plans.
  • Coordinate major building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, low-voltage, elevator, civil/site, and utility trades.
  • Coordinate utility shutdowns, tie-ins, relocations, and commissioning.
  • Lead daily subcontractor coordination meetings and field progress meetings.
  • Enforce site safety requirements, conduct inspections and toolbox talks, and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Oversee field quality, inspections, mockups, testing, commissioning, punch lists, and turnover requirements.
  • Support RFIs, submittals, as-built conditions, and deficiency tracking.

Requirements
