POSITION SUMMARY

Fortune‑Johnson General Contractors is seeking a Project Superintendent to join our team. The ideal candidate is a construction professional who has experience building projects in excess of $40M and has at least 5 years’ experience as a multifamily lead superintendent. The Project Superintendent is primarily responsible for leading field operations at the jobsite, providing leadership for the project team, and ultimately being responsible for all work that each Assistant Superintendent manages—ensuring adherence to schedule, quality, cost, and safety.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Partner with Project Manager to ensure project success.
• Review project plans, requirements, submittals, and specifications.
• Assist in creating a project schedule, sequencing, logistics, and safety plan.
• Coordinate, oversee, and manage the entire construction process.
• Lead subcontractor meetings.
• Manage clearing, grading, demo, site, and concrete subcontractors.
• Lead, manage and mentor Assistant Superintendents.
• Ensure material and equipment are delivered to the jobsite in a timely manner.
• Manage Fortune‑Johnson Quality Assurance procedures.
• Manage project budget by holding subcontractors accountable for work performed.
• Ensure that work progresses according to schedule.
• Enforce and maintain a safe and clean jobsite.

Desired Skills and Experience

• 10+ years of experience, including 5 years’ experience as a multifamily lead superintendent.
• Must be proactive and work with a sense of urgency.
• Establish a spirit of partnering with subcontractors while demanding performance that contributes to project success.
• Supervises, mentors, and develops direct reports.
• Demonstrates solid communication skills.
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of personal computer use, company communication tools, email, the internet, Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office), and Procore project management software.
• Builds relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and municipalities that lead to positive outcomes.
• Is an excellent leader and company team player.
• Can effectively coordinate, organize, plan, and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
• Maintains focus while working in a high‑level, fast‑paced environment.
