Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a Project Scientist to join our team in the Austin or Dallas, Texas area. You will provide technical oversight, lead site investigations, and mentor staff on environmental projects.

Ideal candidates have 5–7+ years of environmental services experience, strong report writing skills, and familiarity with Texas regulations. This role offers growth, diverse projects, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • 5-7+ years of experience with environmental services including site investigation and characterization, including drilling and environmental multi-media sampling techniques and procedures, data interpretation and evaluation.
  • Experience in the preparation of technical and regulatory reports, proposals and cost estimates.
  • Working knowledge of applicable Texas laws and regulations.
  • Perform task and project management assignments associated with environmental assessments, subsurface investigations and remedial designs, remediation, and monitoring projects.
  • Project deliverables, including the preparation of soil boring logs, well construction diagrams, potentiometric surface maps, geologic cross sections, site sample and plume maps, work plans, and reports.
  • Experience interacting with clients and managing subcontractors. Ability to mentor and train staff.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, positive attitude, and ability to work both independently and within groups.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
