Job summary

Lighthouse Electric Company, Inc. is seeking a Project Scheduler to manage and update project schedules in collaboration with teams. The role focuses on 3,000+ activity schedules, ensuring accuracy and timely updates across commercial/industrial projects.

The ideal candidate will mentor peers, apply earned value concepts, and maintain KPI-driven schedules, with travel to job sites as needed. Office-based in Canonsburg area.

Qualifications

  • A year of scheduling work experience.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Suite and/or Google Suite.
  • Advanced understanding of construction, fabrication OR BIM workflows & processes.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage concurrent responsibilities.
  • Ability to explain schedule logic clearly in meetings with executives.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a mentor to newer team members.
  • Manage 3,000+ activity project schedules with minimal oversight.
  • Maintain master schedule for each project and assess impacts.
  • Incorporate logic with resource, cost & material loading/leveling.
  • Interface with Operations/Deliver teams to discuss impacts and resolutions.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews of schedule submissions for KPI conformance.
  • Participate in weekly schedule updates with customers and report status.
  • Stay current with scheduling software enhancements and best practices.
  • Forecast and budget upcoming work for themselves and project teams.
  • Help onboard/train new resources and develop standards.

Job Description

This role is based in office, so we are currently looking for candidates who are local to the area. Relocation is not available at this time.

Project Scheduler is responsible for tracking and updating the project schedule using technology and collaboration with team members

A Scheduler II Is Responsible For The Following
  • Acts as a mentor to newer team members
  • Able to manage 3,000+ activity project schedules with little assistance and/or oversight.
  • Assist Project Teams in maintaining master schedule for each project, identifying and recording the impact of work to be performed, and not to be performed, as scheduled
  • Incorporates thorough logic into schedule while utilizing resource, cost & material loading/leveling.
  • Interface with Operations/Deliver team(s) to discuss impact of work and resolution of problems
  • Perform a Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) review of schedule submissions for conformance to KPI’s
  • Participate in weekly schedule updates with customers and report out status from updates received from the internal update process
  • Remain current on advancements in scheduling software as well as industry standard scheduling techniques
  • Able to approximately forecast and budget upcoming work for themselves and their project teams
  • Able to help direct others with issues and errors within P6 Professional and develop standards to help onboard/train newer resources.
  • Able to identify schedule errors and works with internal/external stakeholders to find solutions
  • Able to create, follow and QC department and company SOPs.
  • Able to navigate and understand project specifications & requirements as well as construction drawings & documents.
  • Can speak to the in-depth detail and reasoning behind their schedules in meetings with
  • Project Executives and other Executive Management
  • Implements advanced Earned Value Management techniques into schedule
Additional Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • A year of scheduling work experience
  • Ability to understand other trade’s activities in a project schedule
  • Advanced computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Suite and/or Google Suite Applications
  • Advanced understanding of construction, fabrication OR BIM workflows & processes.
  • Competency in prioritizing multiple tasks demanding immediate attention, and managing multiple, on-going, concurrent responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly assimilate new information, analyzing appropriately and applying in new situations
  • Advanced written or verbal communication skills
Travel Requirements
  • Primarily office-based with occasional travel to job sites and company locations.
  • Periodic travel may be required to support training initiatives, onboarding activities, and workforce development programs.

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
