Job summary

Jacobs seeks a highly experienced Project Schedule Manager to lead scheduling for major infrastructure initiatives in Baltimore, MD. This role focuses on critical path analysis, recovery planning, and integrated scheduling across engineering, procurement, construction, and turnover.

You will collaborate with program leadership, project managers, design teams, contractors, and client stakeholders to keep complex capital projects moving forward in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • At least 15 years of project scheduling experience in engineering, construction, or transportation.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project is essential.
  • Experience in CPM and schedule performance reporting is required.
  • PMO/IPO exposure in a major capital program is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Support scheduling activities across rail, transit, transportation, and capital programs.
  • Create integrated schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and turnover.
  • Coordinate with project leaders, construction teams, and stakeholders to validate progress.
  • Perform schedule risk assessments and critical path analyses.
  • Monitor milestones and identify risks and delays.
  • Develop recovery schedules and mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare schedule updates, dashboards, and project controls deliverables.
  • Communicate schedule performance using charts, graphs, and visuals.
  • Collaborate in a matrixed program environment supporting major infrastructure investments.

As a Project Schedule Manager, you’ll support the successful delivery of large-scale infrastructure programs, providing critical construction scheduling and project controls expertise that helps keep complex capital projects moving forward. Working within an Integrated Program Office in Baltimore, Maryland, you'll collaborate with program leadership, project managers, construction teams, designers, contractors, and client stakeholders to support some of the region's most impactful transportation investments.

The position requires working from the Integrated Program Office in Baltimore, Maryland, a minimum of three days per week.

What You'll Do
  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project and program schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Support scheduling activities across large-scale rail, transit, transportation, and capital improvement programs.
  • Develop and maintain integrated schedules that incorporate engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and project turnover activities.
  • Coordinate with project managers, construction managers, design teams, contractors, owner force account leaders, and third-party stakeholders to validate progress and schedule performance.
  • Support constructability planning and perform schedule analysis, critical path analysis, float analysis, and schedule risk assessments.
  • Monitor project milestones and key performance indicators to identify schedule impacts, delays, and emerging risks.
  • Support development of recovery schedules, mitigation strategies, and corrective action plans.
  • Prepare schedule updates, executive dashboards, progress reports, and project controls deliverables.
  • Use charts, graphs, and other visual reporting tools to communicate schedule performance and forecasted outcomes.
  • Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary, matrixed program environment supporting major infrastructure investments.
Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of project scheduling experience supporting engineering, construction, infrastructure, or transportation projects.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and updating detailed project schedules throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Understanding of critical path methodology (CPM), schedule logic development, baseline management, and schedule performance reporting.
  • Experience tracking progress, analyzing schedule variances, and supporting schedule recovery planning.
  • Experience working within a Program Management Office (PMO), Integrated Program Office (IPO), or major capital program environment.
  • Familiarity with public-sector capital delivery program requirements.
  • Experience coordinating schedules across multiple contracts, stakeholders, and project delivery teams.
  • Experience presenting schedule information to clients, executive leadership, and program stakeholders.
  • Field construction scheduling experience supporting active transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
  • Ability to develop reports, charts, dashboards, and schedule presentations for project teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders in a collaborative project environment.
  • Ability to work from the Integrated Program Office in Baltimore, MD 3 days per week
Ideally, you'll also have
  • Experience supporting rail and transit projects.
  • Experience supporting large transportation, infrastructure, or capital delivery programs.
  • Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 scheduling techniques and best practices.
  • Familiarity with FTA, FRA, DOT, or other public-sector transportation program requirements.

The base salary range for this position is $150,000.00 to $180,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
