Title: Mechanical Project Sales Representative

Compensation: $65,0007 $105,000 per year, plus Sales Incentive Plan

Role Summary
This is a technical, customer-facing sales role focused on developing turnkey HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing retrofit solutions for commercial facilities.
You will meet with customers, survey their facilities, evaluate existing systems, and determine what needs to be repaired, modified, or replaced. From there, you will develop the scope, estimate the work, prepare the proposal, and present a clear solution that improves facility performance while reducing long-term operating costs.

Job Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with prospective and existing commercial customers
- Survey HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing systems to identify repair, replacement, and retrofit opportunities
- Evaluate facility conditions, operating requirements, drawings, specifications, equipment, and jobsite constraints
- Develop complete project scopes, including labor, materials, equipment, resources, costs, and execution requirements
- Prepare estimates and design-build proposals for recommended facility solutions
- Explain the technical and financial benefits of proposed repairs, modifications, and replacements
- Present proposals, respond to customer questions and objections, and follow up throughout the sales process
- Help customers understand potential energy savings and long-term ownership costs
- Qualify prospective customers and respond promptly to leads, referrals, and requests for proposals
- Maintain an active pipeline of quotes, proposals, and new business opportunities
- Partner with internal estimating and operations teams to ensure project scopes are clear, accurate, and executable
- Maintain accurate records of customer activity, proposals, and business transactions
- Build productive relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and project partners
Qualifications / Requirements
- Associate degree in construction science, HVAC, or a related field, or journey-level status in a relevant mechanical trade
- Four or more years of experience working with commercial HVAC, mechanical, or plumbing systems
- Four or more years of experience developing and maintaining customer relationships
- Ability to independently survey mechanical systems and recommend appropriate repair, retrofit, or replacement solutions
- Experience interpreting mechanical drawings, specifications, equipment information, and jobsite conditions
- Understanding of energy savings and facility operating-cost considerations
- Strong estimating, proposal-development, presentation, and follow-up skills
- Strong communication and relationship-management abilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively with estimating, operations, and field teams
- Motor vehicle record that meets company guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, construction, engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Technical sales experience within commercial HVAC, mechanical construction, or facility services
- Experience developing financial justification for proposed facility solutions
- Experience with industrial refrigeration
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb ladders and access rooftops, elevated walkways, and mechanical spaces
- Ability to perform facility inspections in hot or cold weather conditions
- Ability to use small hand and electrical tools and remove equipment panels during inspections
- Ability to carry and wear a backpack while surveying facilities
- Ability to work for extended periods at a computer
