About the Role

We’re hiring a Project Sales Manager – Underground to manage all project‑based sales activities related to underground utility systems, including waterline, storm sewer, and sanitary sewer projects. This role serves as the technical backbone of the Underground division, supporting projects from bid through execution.

What You’ll Do
  • Review project plans and specifications for underground utility projects
  • Complete detailed material takeoffs for waterline, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, structures, and erosion control systems
  • Develop accurate project quotes aligned with specifications and pricing strategy
  • Prepare and manage complete submittal packages to ensure project compliance
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, municipalities, vendors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Track projects from bid through order fulfillment and assist with issue resolution
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales, Purchasing, and Operations to support efficient execution
  • Provide technical expertise and responsive service to maintain strong customer relationships
  • Identify value‑engineering opportunities and product alternatives
  • Maintain regular in‑person attendance
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and standing
  • Ability to safely access and navigate facilities, including climbing ladders
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work outside of normal business hours as needed
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions when required
What You Bring
  • Strong understanding of underground utility materials and construction practices
  • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, plans, and specifications
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem‑solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field strongly preferred
  • In lieu of a degree, 4+ years of relevant technical experience in underground utility construction or materials sales is required
