Ames Construction, Inc. is seeking a Safety Supervisor to lead on-site safety for heavy civil and industrial projects. You will champion safety programs, train crews, and ensure compliance with policies across sites.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in construction safety supervision, excellent communication, and a valid driver's license. This role requires a proactive, vigilant safety mindset and collaboration with project teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of experience in construction safety supervision.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a security/background screening.

Responsibilities

• Instill Safety as a top priority by monitoring and maintaining a safe work environment
• Implement and oversee the Project Safety Program including the development of site safety policies and procedures
• Conduct training, including new hire orientation and safety meetings
• Monitor all heavy construction work for compliance with safety requirements
• Monitor and adhere to established budgetary guidelines, and ensure cost control measures are being followed
• Embody the Ames approach to Safety, being constantly vigilant of conditions and work practices, empowered to stop unsafe work
• Assess risk management and investigate incidents
• Provide and analyze project safety statistics
• Assist Project Manager with project setups
• Communicate with client and subcontractors
• Collaborate with regional safety team
• Other duties as assigned.
