Job summary

Ames Construction, Inc. in Ohio is seeking a Project Safety Manager to oversee safety disciplines and daily construction operations on a national portfolio.

You will instill safety as a top priority, develop site safety policies, and conduct training for new hires and ongoing meetings. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction safety supervision, civil construction knowledge, and OSHA 500 or equivalent; degrees and CSP preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in construction safety supervision
• Civil construction knowledge highly valued
• OSHA 500 or equivalent preferred
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety preferred
• Board Certified Safety Professional certification preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Instill safety as top priority on site
• Develop and oversee site safety policies and procedures
• Conduct new hire orientations and safety meetings
• Monitor heavy construction work for safety compliance
• Manage project safety budgets and cost controls
• Empower to stop unsafe work
• Assess risk management and investigate incidents
• Provide and analyze project safety statistics
• Assist Project Manager with project setups
• Communicate with client and subcontractors
• Collaborate with regional safety team
• Perform other duties as assigned
