Job summary

Ames Construction is seeking a Project Safety Manager to lead safety programs on heavy civil construction sites. You will develop and maintain project-specific safety plans, conduct site inspections, and lead toolbox talks with project personnel.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Safety or Construction Management, 5+ years of safety experience in heavy civil construction, and knowledge of OSHA regulations. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; CSP/CHST/OSHA 30 desirable.

• Minimum 5 years of safety experience in heavy civil construction.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; CSP/CHST/OSHA 30 desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific safety plans.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits for compliance.
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and trainings.
• Investigate incidents and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions.
• Coordinate with project managers to integrate safety across phases.
• Maintain safety documentation and serve as contact for safety matters.
