Job summary

WEG Electric Corp. is seeking a Project Quality Manager to lead the project quality program across EPC and large capital projects in energy and industrial sectors.

You will oversee audits, NCR lifecycle, ITP compliance, and reporting to drive customer confidence and contract success. Based in or near Atlanta–Metro GA or Halifax, NS, you will collaborate with Site Managers and Project Teams, escalate issues, and ensure adherence to ISO 9001:2015 standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years total experience, with 4+ years in a dedicated quality management role on EPC, construction, or large capital projects.
• CQE or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a relevant technical discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the project audit schedule across the project lifecycle; lead internal process, supplier, and site audits.
• Issue written audit reports; track corrective actions to closure and escalate unresolved findings to the Project Manager.
• Own the full NCR lifecycle from identification through closure; ensure NCRs are raised, recorded, classified by severity, and dispositioned with correct approvals.
• Review the open NCR register; raise unresolved NCRs and notify Site Managers when systemic issues are identified.
• Produce the monthly quality report covering audit findings, NCR trends, ITP compliance, concessions, and open quality risks.

Serve as the Project Quality Manager and functional quality authority on EPC and project-based contracts in the energy and industrial sectors. You will build and run the full project quality program, from kickoff through close-out, ensuring all work, materials, contractor deliverables, and inspection activities comply with contractual requirements, applicable standards, and WEG Electric Corp. quality expectations.

This role sits at the center of how WEG Electric Corp. manages project risk and customer confidence. You will lead the audit program, own the NCR lifecycle, oversee ITP compliance across construction sites, and produce quality reporting that drives decisions at every project level.

For an experienced quality professional, this role offers direct influence over technically complex, high-value contracts, with visibility into executive leadership and the customer relationship.

While the start date has not yet been determined, we're interested in speaking with quality professionals who may be exploring opportunities due to project completion, contract expiration, or future career planning. Preferred locations are Atlanta-Metro, GA, or Halifax, NS.

Primary Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the project audit schedule; lead internal process, supplier, and site audits throughout the project lifecycle
• Issue written audit reports upon completion of each audit; track corrective actions to closure and elevate unresolved findings to the Project Manager
• Own the full NCR lifecycle from identification through closure; ensure all NCRs are raised and recorded promptly, classified by severity, and dispositioned with the correct authority and work-stop requirements applied
• Review the open NCR register on a regular cadence; raise unresolved NCRs to the Project Manager and notify all affected Site Managers when a systemic issue is identified
• Produce the monthly quality report covering audit findings, NCR trends, ITP compliance, concessions, and open quality risks

ITP Oversight and Inspection Point Management

• Review and formally approve contractor ITPs before any construction begins; confirm all Hold, Witness, and Review Points are correctly designated per contract requirements
• Maintain the live ITP Status Register independently of the contractor's records; keep it current after each notification, attendance decision, and waiver
• Manage Hold Point waivers in writing only; verbal clearance is not acceptable under any circumstances; elevate patterns of waiver requests to the Project Manager
• If the contractor bypasses a Hold Point without notification or an approved waiver, notify the Project Manager immediately, require an NCR, and confirm work does not advance until disposition is agreed

Contractor Quality Oversight and Reporting

• Validate that contractor quality management systems comply with ISO 9001:2015 or equivalent; apply a risk-based criticality framework to all equipment, processes, and systems and communicate requirements to contractors and subcontractors accordingly
• Stop work on any nonconforming product or process; notify the Project Manager in writing; require root cause analysis for repeat deficiencies
• Maintain the concession and RFI registers; provide updated copies to the Company at the agreed reporting frequency
• Compile and submit the complete quality close-out package, including the NCR register, completed ITP Status Register, audit reports, and data books

Experience

• 7+ years of total experience, with 4+ years in a dedicated quality management role on EPC, construction, or large capital projects
• Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification preferred

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a relevant technical discipline preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Technical Expertise

• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, ITP management, NCR lifecycle processes, and quality audit execution in EPC or large capital project environments
• Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, and civil construction inspection requirements applicable to power generation, grid infrastructure, or industrial projects
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills and SAP experience strongly preferred, including NCR entry, WBS referencing, and quality cost tracking

Leadership & Communication

• Manages contractor quality compliance across multiple sites.
• Produces audit reports, NCRs, quality plans, and executive reports independently.
• Escalates issues effectively, including stop-work actions and corrective measures.

Strategic Thinking

• Identifies quality risks and drives corrective action before escalation.
• Supports quality programs from project kickoff through close-out.
• Maintains audit-ready documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
