A Brief Overview

Reporting to the Strategic Projects Manager, the Program Manager leads key organization initiatives for Stanford Blood Center. They are responsible for coordinating and completing all aspects of project management on assigned projects, including scope, schedule, budget, plans, meetings, requirements, development, workflows, and implementation. The Program Manager also supports program management activities to ensure projects are on time, within scope, and within budget, resolving issues and communicating with stakeholders to ensure project success. Effective communication skills are essential for acting as a liaison between project teams, stakeholders, and leadership.

What you will do
  1. Project Management: Implement initiatives from inception to closure, manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and documentation, develop relationships with stakeholders, define project parameters, conduct kick-offs, coordinate resources, develop project plans, track progress, and report to leadership. Oversee multiple projects, organize work, and utilize project management tools for reporting and issue resolution. Lead project teams and facilitate post-project reviews. Train staff on project management tools and methods.
  2. Process Improvements: Drive process improvements and strategic initiatives, incorporate Lean practices, identify optimization opportunities, and communicate data-driven insights and recommendations.
  3. Program/Portfolio Management: Support project managers to ensure project success, assist in portfolio management, identify organizational issues early, collaborate with customers, manage project tools, and track key performance metrics.
  4. Ensure compliance with health, safety, privacy, and security policies, handling sensitive information responsibly, and following all applicable regulations and standards.
Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in science, business, or a related field.
Experience Qualifications
  • 2+ to 3 years of project management leadership experience.
  • 1+ to 2 years in healthcare or a highly regulated industry (preferred).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Leadership in matrix environments, project management frameworks, strategic and analytical thinking, risk management, workload management, proficiency in MS Office and SharePoint, experience with business case analysis, prioritization, self-motivation, familiarity with project management software, and strong communication skills.
Licenses and Certifications
  • PMP certification (preferred).
Physical Demands and Work Conditions
  • Sitting, walking, standing, hand use, potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.

The role offers a starting pay scale generally between $51.15 and $67.78 per hour, with final compensation based on various factors.
