Job summary

American Electric Power in Columbus, OH, seeks a Project Procurement Analyst to coordinate goods/services procurement for capital projects. You’ll develop and submit purchase requisitions to sourcing teams and support the broader Project Procurement organization.

The role involves collaborating with project teams, guiding procurement standards, and ensuring timely, cost-effective purchases while maintaining alignment with Sourcing and project controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field of study (or equivalent with experience).
• Associate’s degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience OR High School Diploma with 4+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with procurement processes, standards, and contracting terms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact with project teams for developing requisition execution requirements.
• Guide project teams on standards, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate to issue RFIs and RFQs and create material/service requisitions.
• Assist in selecting materials/services and keep teams informed of developments.
• Coordinate material/equipment specifications for purchase orders.
• Gather data to determine demand and ensure timely procurement at lowest total cost of ownership.
• Route requisitions to sourcing teams for fulfillment.
• Escalate material demand issues to support supply chain SLAs.
• Account for lead times and delivery details for tracking requirements.
• Identify schedule delays and assess cost/schedule/resource impacts.
