Job summary

The AES Corporation in Dayton, OH is seeking a Project Planning Engineer to develop long‑term maintenance and investment plans for the capital budget. You will define scope, estimate costs and schedule activities for capital projects, across asset replacements, maintenance, and grid modernization.

Responsibilities include building business cases, preparing bid specs, and coordinating with PMO, Engineering and Operations.

Qualifications

• Four year college degree required; related fields considered.
• 0–5 years of experience in capital project and/or portfolio management.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Experience building scope, estimates, and schedules for projects.

Responsibilities

• Create scope of work documents, cost estimates and schedules for assigned projects with engineering input.
• Build the project business case using reliability and planning inputs.
• Provide bid specifications to Supply Chain per procurement process.
• Compile detailed work plans for PMO, Engineering and Operations teams.
• Apply Change Management and Asset Governance processes for modifications.
