Job summary

Solar Turbines in Channelview, TX is seeking a Project Pipe Fitter B to join a team delivering piping fabrication and safe test operations. You will frame weldments from engineering drawings and support quality standards on site.

The role requires ability to pass a pipe fitter qualification, 6+ months in production, and flexibility for 1st or 2nd shift with potential overtime. Compensation includes standard benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass pipe fitter qualification test.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in a production environment.
• Ability to perform simple computer operations.
• Be available to work 1st or 2nd shift.
• Ability to work overtime to support production demands, including weekends.
• Must be able to climb and work from ladders and scaffolds.
• Ability to work well individually or in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform pressure tests of tubular components and/or assemblies using water or air pressure.
• Operate water pumps, air compressor, pressure gauges and other equipment associated with pressure testing.
• Assemble piping systems based on testing instructions given by the company.
• Document testing results or any other documentation associated with testing process.
• Follow documented procedures and standard work to perform safe and defect free operations.
• Perform carbon arc cutting and gouging.
• Sanding may be required to prepare and dress welds.
• Use of common measuring and locating tools (tape measure, transit, fixtures, etc.).
• Use of forklifts, pallet jacks, jib and overhead cranes to move and position work pieces.
• Perform Manual fitting of pipe components to achieve the requirements in the engineering drawing, as needed.

Project Pipe Fitter B

As a Pipe Fitter, you will work in a team alongside the pipe fabrication and assembly teams to accurately frame structural weldments using engineering drawings.

• Three (3) years or more of Pipe Fabrication experience
• Good Communication Skills and strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
• Leadership Experience

Candidates may be placed on any shift, dependent on business needs

Pay Range: $25.48 - $38.22
