Job summary

KOMAN Advantage LLC has an opportunity for a Project Manager to support a federal Customs and Border Protection contract in Yuma, AZ. The role requires on-site work in the office and in the field for site inspections, job walks, client meetings, etc.

The selected candidate will lead a team of up to 15, manage subcontractors, ensure safety and quality per the QC and government requirements, and develop the project schedule across multiple locations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • 5–10 years of construction project management experience.
  • OSHA 30, First Aid, CPR, AED, and ASHE HCC certification.
  • Ability to work on-site full-time and pass a background check.
  • Experience with government project documentation and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of up to 15 and subcontractors on a CBP contract.
  • Plan and carry out maintenance activities at multiple locations.
  • Monitor labor to meet budgeted hours and staffing levels.
  • Coordinate subcontractor work to meet the project schedule.
  • Lead safety protocols and ensure QC/government requirements.
  • Develop reports and submit to the government; manage submittals and costs.
  • Attend daily and quarterly meetings with the client and perform site inspections.

What does the position do
  • Manage a team of up to 15 individuals as well as subcontractors in support of a Customs and Border Patrol contract that consists of maintenance activities on and around the border wall and roadsPlan and carry out the work related to the maintenance activities at multiple locations within the sectorMonitor the labor on every project under their direction to ensure that budgeted labor is met and not exceeded This will include managing the construction process to ensure that the management is allocated at the correct phases of the project and not over or understaffedManage subcontractors and coordinate subcontractor work to ensure the project schedule is metUnderstands construction sequencing and is able to conceptually build the project schedule in its entirety and executeLead and guide their team through all safety protocolsEnsure all work is installed per the work plan document and that quality is met by utilizing the QCP andor quality requirementsPerform timely inspections to ensure work meets government requirementsIdentify and resolve problems and conflicts early by utilizing specific controls established in the QCPAttend daily tag up meetings and quarterly management meeting with the client to ensure there is a complete understanding of the project and any current issues or outstanding questionsWrite scopes of work for subcontractors and work with corporate representatives regarding issuance of subcontracts manage scope and price construction change orders while managing schedules closeouts and job costsEnsure project compliance with the QC and Safety programDevelop the required reports and submit to the governmentManage the submittal process
What will top candidates bring to the table
  • Must be able to work on site full time per contract requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering or related field in strongly preferred5 10 years of construction project management is requiredOSHA 30 First Aid CPR AED and ASHE HCC certificationUnderstands private client andor government documentation requirementsStrong technical skills and computer skills are necessary to be successful in this roleAbility to pass a background check for working on government projects
