Job summary

Halff has an immediate opening for a Survey Project Manager who is a Florida Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) for our Tavares, FL office. The role involves overseeing project finances, supporting proposals, and mentoring field crews to ensure high-quality deliverables across large land survey projects in Central Florida.

The position requires 3+ years of management experience, PSM in Florida preferred or licensure within a year, and strong skills in boundary/ROW resolution and proposal

• 3+ years of management experience.
• Florida PSM preferred or could become licensed in Florida within a year.
• Demonstrated expertise managing large-scale land survey projects, including overseeing field crews and multiple registered surveyors.
• Boundary and Right of Way resolution.
• Preparation of proposals.

What you will do:

• Provide support to business development efforts to guide and lead each phase of the process in preparation of proposals, while emphasizing quality outcomes.
• Exceptional ability to lead by example in a professional, productive and established work environment.
• Assist with the operational flow for a survey team to collaboratively prioritize projects of all sizes and levels of complexities.

What you will need:

• 3+ years of demonstrated management experience.
• PSM in the state of Florida, preferred, or could become licensed in Florida within a year.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale, land survey projects, including overseeing field crews and multiple registered surveyors.
• Boundary and Right of Way resolution.
• Preparation of proposals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external clients for the purpose of being concise, clear, and conveying details for project deliverables in an efficient and timely manner.
• Ability to work autonomously, mentor and professionally develop Survey Technicians and field crew members.
• Exceptional ability and practical experience to successfully manage projects, including developing scope of work, schedule and fee while adhering to established guidelines.
• Technical understanding and proficiencies with Trimble Business Center and Civil 3D.
• Experience with Public Works, Energy, Water/Wastewater, and/or Land Development projects, is ideal.
• Hands-on experience with various municipalities in the Central Florida market.
