AMT is seeking a Project Manager / Senior Water Resources Engineer with 7+ years of experience to lead water resources tasks for transportation projects in VA/MD. The role offers hybrid work and potential relocation support for the right candidate, with opportunities to grow into a leadership position.

The candidate will oversee hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, permit approvals, and collaboration with a transportation design team while delivering high-quality plans and reports.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Water Resources.
• Minimum of 7 years of water resources related experience including plan and report production.
• Hydrology and hydraulic modeling experience with commonly used software.

Responsibilities

• Completion of calculations, reports and plans for transportation projects including stormwater management, storm drainage systems, culverts, open channels, bridge hydraulics and erosion and sediment control.
• Perform Hydrologic and Hydraulic analysis and reporting.
• Obtain permit approvals from state and local agencies.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering documents (plans, reports, cost estimates and specifications) for Advertisement and Construction.
• Meet and work directly with clients and public agency officials.
• Work with a Transportation design team across disciplines and support staff on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Provide QA/QC review following AMT and client-based procedures.

Project Manager / Senior Water Resources Engineer

AMT is growing and is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager / Senior Water Resources Engineer with 7+ years of relevant experience to join our growing team of design professionals in the Herndon, VA office. The right candidate would lead water resources engineering tasks for transportation-related projects for Virginia and Maryland DOT and municipalities. • Virginia Licensed Professional Engineer required, Maryland preferred.
• VDOT experience highly preferred.
• CADD experience with MicroStation / OpenRoads required.
• Excellent organizational, coordination and communication skills, both written and verbal.
