AMT is growing and is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager / Senior Water Resources Engineer with 7+ years of relevant experience, to join our growing team of design professionals in our Herndon, VA office. The right candidate would lead water resources engineering tasks for transportation-related projects for Virginia and Maryland DOT and municipalities. Responsibilities
  • Completion of calculations, reports and plans in support of transportation projects including stormwater management, storm drainage systems, culverts, open channels, bridge hydraulics and erosion and sediment control
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and reporting
  • Obtain permit approvals from state and local agencies
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering documents (plans, reports, cost estimates and specifications) for advertisement and construction
  • Meet and work directly with clients and public agency officials
  • Work in collaboration with a transportation design team comprised of other disciplines and support staff on multi‑disciplinary projects
  • Provide QA/QC review following AMT and client‑based procedures
Qualifications
  • BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Water Resources
  • Minimum of 7 years of water resources related experience including plan and report production
  • Hydrology and hydraulic modeling experience (storm drainage, SWM, floodplain, bridge) with commonly used software
  • Virginia Licensed Professional Engineer required, Maryland preferred
  • VDOT experience highly preferred
  • CADD experience with MicroStation / OpenRoads required
  • Excellent organizational, coordination and communication skills, both written and verbal
