Job Opportunity: Professional Engineer in Roadway/Highway Design

Lochmueller Group, a regional engineering consulting firm with over 40 years of experience in infrastructure, is seeking an experienced professional engineer to join our Roadway/Highway design team. About Lochmueller Group: We provide multi-disciplinary services including transportation design, water resources, environmental analysis, construction engineering, traffic engineering, surveying, and land acquisition. Our transportation team primarily focuses on roadway and bridge design for local public agencies and state DOTs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a project manager for various roadway/highway design projects
• Lead cross-functional project teams, assigning tasks to engineers, technicians, and administrative staff
• Support project teams in problem-solving to ensure timely and within-budget project completion
• Travel to project sites as needed (typically no overnight travel)
• Attend meetings, present project aspects, and keep stakeholders informed
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing high-quality service
• Act as a technical specialist applying advanced engineering concepts and quality assurance
• Manage multiple projects, plan detailed engineering work, and prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules
• Assist with proposals and funding applications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Registered Professional Engineer
• 8+ years of relevant experience in DOT or local agency roadway projects
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Microstation, and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
