Job description

Responsible for all stages and types of center initiatives, from proposal development and requirements definition to project planning, activity and productivity reporting, oversight, and management. Work closely with physician principal investigators and study teams to lead daily operations for health services research projects within the Heart & Vascular Center. Previous experience in public health research or the healthcare industry is preferred.

1. Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
2. Coordinate with study teams to secure regulatory approvals, data use agreements, and contracts.
3. Supervise research assistants, data collection staff, and other project personnel.
4. Maintain liaison with Center management and other contacts to facilitate project activities.
5. Manage multiple projects using formal planning techniques.
6. Represent the Center in project and strategy meetings.
7. Oversee resource allocation for projects.
8. Develop effective communication processes for reporting schedule, performance, costs, risks, and mitigation strategies.
9. Ensure adherence to project deadlines and deliverables.
10. Prepare project status reports and develop process and outcome reports.
11. Demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, and communication skills; foster a collaborative team environment; communicate effectively with diverse communities.
12. Perform other duties as required.
13. Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of project management experience; healthcare industry experience preferred.
14. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to define scope and analyze complex processes.
15. Basic knowledge of research evaluation design and descriptive statistics.
16. Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making, and leadership skills; ability to work independently and in teams.
17. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
